Sakaiminato is the hometown of manga cartoonist Shigeru Mizuki. A street of the town is dedicated to the ghosts, monsters and characters that appear in his stories, a hundred of bronze statues are on the both sides of the road. There is also a dedicated museum.

I’ve posted about Daehyun Kim before. I really like these drawings so much. I especially like the last one.

This might sound a bit crazy, but sometimes just before I fall asleep I get the oddest feeling of like fluctuating between being too big and too small for my body, I don’t know how else to explain it other than maybe my inside ‘being’ is often in flux, but my outside is the same, and then before the panic sets in, I need to just calm myself and sit cross-legged mentally to like regroup and whoo-sahhhh myself with some perspective.

Its been a really tough few weeks, but really rewarding too. I turned 25 and spent my birthday moving into a dream new house that blows my mind every time I unlock the front door. Its super cosy, and so I am right now. Totally content, but always eager for more. I think that has got to be the cosiest vibrational stance. Cape Town is also a hard city because life is so nice here, that its easy to forget about ambition and just bask in the beauty of the city. Fortunately, being a Joburg gal means I got ambition for dayssss so my grind is still on point. Balancing school and work is hard though DAMN! Also, I feel like a first year in my Masters classes because I have never studied media before so its like a major learning experience every time and that’s super flippen cool, even if its super flippen hard. Ya no, I’m learning that for my happiness to have substantive quality, I’ve got to put in substantial work. Learning curves, all day errrrrrday out here.

a philosophical theory or approach that emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of the will.
